    Default WSF Jamboree Accommodations

Well folks been spending some time sorting and packing for the Jamboree.

Now as over the years we have done all sorts of camping, of different kinds of "theme' camping.....last 30 years or so, mostly modern and rendezvous......haven't really been to a Jamboree.

So as we have either sold or given away the campers, big tents..... Mrs H isn't into the back pack, ground sleeping, kinda stuff so much any more.....(getting down on the ground isn't so bad, getting back up is getting harder)......That leaves us with bringing the Lodge, canvas tent and fly.

Now as this is a Jamboree rather than a Rondy, I am planning on mixing in some modern gear, stove, lantern, cots etc....That leaves me with sorting and packing a 'Mixed bag".

This is kinda a good thing... as things sitting around seem to need attention.....and the realization of just how much gear is there.

This is gonna be good "dry run Bug out" .....

So what are y'all planning on for accommodations?

I used a tent and cot the year that I went. I can tell you the "30 degree" bag was not enough in the morning.

I have in the past used a Eureka wall tent, cot, table and a Eureka screen house for a shelter for cooking. This year I'm thinking of going light and use mostly my backpacking gear. I'm planning on doing some backpacking the few days before the jamboree. I'll still bring some heavier cooking equipment, camp stove, dutch oven, and heavy griddle for use at the jamboree. It will be a mix of gear for sure, but less of it than usual.

Tarp and Hammock with over and under quilts and nice little down pillow. The tarp may either be the winter tarp with doors, as I still have trouble putting it up and need more time with it, or the normal tarp that's easy and gtg.

Hopefully I can find suitable trees....

This is my first time at the jamboree also. I am bringing the tent and my hammock. My DH does not have a hammock so he will sleeping in the tent and depending on the trees I may sleep in the hamock or if it is too chilly I will sleep in the tent also. I plan on doing this somewhat like car canping as I plan on being comfortable. Since my back is so bad I may sleep in my van as the back seat folds down into a bed so who knows what will happen. At least the tent works well for shleter if it rains and for changing clothes etc.

Mrs. Crash and I use a smallish tent and Thermarest pads on the ground.

I am bringing tent, sleeping bags, air mattress, pillows, cooler and food, grill, cast skillets, pot/pan, dishes, kettle, clothing, and a few other accessories.
