sharpened points

This question is for anyone who makes spears or wood arrowheads how do you get a nice sharp point i have tried and i get something that seems sharp but not sharp enough to kill a small animal

Are you trying to sharpen the tip of your spear, or are you making a separate tip that you are attaching to your spear?

Just whittling the tip and then fire hardening it as RR suggested will make it sharp enough. Like any projectile that you want to penetrate something, it will have to be delivered with enough force to do the job.
