Ahhhhh. Kittens.
That thing is an abomination to nature. While yes, they may have impressive attributes, they can't multiply on their own. imho the people creating those things should be drug out into the street and shot.

I half agree Alpine, although its not a natural animal it is a now an animal and can be bred if it is bred with another Lion-Tiger hybred, doesn't make it an abomination no more than people who breed dogs outside of other breeds or inter-racial marriages. Looks more tiger than lion to me but it is beautiful.
There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.
It looks like you are both right. The male is sterile and the female is fertile. But she can only mate with a lion or tiger.

Sort of like a mule. While I don't see any appreciable use other than their beauty that doesn't mean there are worthless.

What, no recipe on cooking the thing? That pelt'll make a nice rug too.

Just another cat, lion, tiger, puma, jaguar, all the same to me.

The sheer size of the thing is what's so impressive. It's eyeball is the size of fist!

so alpine do you say we should go up to the northern yukon and kill all the grizzly / polar bear hybrids that are occurring so the polar bears can survive the melting of the ice caps?
This member asked that their user name be changed. They acknowledged that most of what they have posted in the past was less than truthful. Hence the reason for the signature post.
Wouldn't interbreeding with grizzly potentially help the polar bears? The offspring might be more adaptable to living on land. Unless of course they end up again in some dude's trophy room.
Or as my rug![]()

no appreciable use? the thing is gigantic. it could eat 2 - maybe 3- times the trespassers a lion or tiger could on it's own.

some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"
every animal has a use.

Lions and tigers don't mate in nature. This was created by man. If you watch the special that was done, discovery or nat geo, don't remember which, they have all kinds of health problems. Since they can't breed on their own, if we don't create more, they cease to exist. Just because it can breed with a lion or a tiger doesn't mean that it will have offspring that are lyger's. It's going to take the gene of the natural parent, iirc.
Just because it's big doesn't mean it's good. The sheer amount of food required to keep it alive would kill the natural order of things if they are released into the wild.
If the grizzly's are being crossed with the polar bears and it simply breeds survivability traits into the animal so it can adapt, cool. But if it requires constant intervention by man to keep the species alive and it can't survive as a species on it's on, then yeah, stop the production and let nature take it's course. However, I haven't seen any data about crossing grizzly and polar bears, whether it's occuring naturally or whether it's a man made genetic manipulation, nor what the side effects are to the species produced.
Maybe you could post a link to a scientific journal or something similar detailing what you are describing so I can make an educated decision for myself versus speculation from a two line post... ?![]()
