    Default Craiglist Gone Bad

I purchased some tractor tires off of Craiglist. The Ole lady went to get them with her girlfriend and came home telling me the guy was a jerk. I shrugged it off. Today I get an email from the SOB that is far from normal. I reported the issue to Craigslist...Then I replied....What I think about spending 372$ to clean up America ain't S%^t. I'll be seeing you soon. There are some some truly messed up people out there, glad she is home safe and she won't be picking up anymore deals!
Keep in mind the problem may be extremely complicated, though the "Fix" is often simple...

I have found many a good deal on CL. Just always gotta remember, it's buyer beware out there. It is even scarier if you go to someones property. I always meet up with people in a neutral public place that has ample of people around.

Sorry you had a bad go.

I agree, and will still be searching out deals. It might be this guy that wishes he never heard of craigslist, not me.

I NEVER complete a Craigslist transaction unarmed, no matter if it's at my house or theirs. I haven't had any issues at all though. Better to be prepared though.

No disrespect intended CS, bu I would not have sent my wife (fiancee in your case) to a Craig's List pick-up with a total stranger. Not a good plan IMO.

RockRiver: I do the same thing. Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

Crash: I was kinda thinking along similar lines. I didn't want to say anything, but since you brought it up I do agree.

CS - If the guy made threats of any kind report it to the police and hang on to the email. They will need a copy that contains the headers. Emailing threats is a felony.

Don't respond to his emails. Ignore him and he might go away.

You might also want to obtain an Order of Protection. Don't just shrug it off. Some guys really are a threat.

Ok two stupid mistakes on my part agreed. The meeting was a place of business, she was bringing her friend along seemed fine to me. The email he sent wasn't threatening more taunting or trying to get me angry. It worked, would my reply be considered a threat?

If you follow up you email with some sort of retaliation, it most certainly could be considered a premeditated act. Best to let it go.

His words have no power unless you give them power. Consider him just one more a$$ that we have do deal with in this world and follow Crash's advice. Let it go.

$372 is what it costs to get out of jail for simple assault.......don't ask me how I know...Yeah, I still got some growing up to do, when I get mad. Guess I'll go back to my projects now since I don't play well with others. The projects don't talk back.

CS, Just let it go. It sucks, I know. Some turd isn't worth all the issues that follow. Sometimes we all need to swallow our pride, make a few mental notes, and move onto something that is actually worth our energy and efforts. This thread is a good reminder to us all to keep our heads on a swivel in life.

I don't know about your area, but around here the news if filled with horror stories about craigslist rip offs, most of which fall into the "if it's too good to be true...It probably is".

So, no I don't use it, and don't really trust too many newspaper adds either.

The AG tires were as advertised cut tractor pulling tires with rims liquid filled for lawn tractor pullers. I got tired of getting stuck trying to tame the backwoods around here they are 1" taller and wider than the turf tires on my husky garden tactor. It is easy to set me off when a women or child is treated inappropriately and then to taunt me by email. Down in the swamp it is common to settle differences with your fists, now you know where the term redneck comes from. I've let it go though, he did not respond, I think he understood the second part I didn't post here. "See you soon!"

Be very careful with Craigslist... Never have someone come to YOUR home!! This site is a haven for scumbags! It is often used for "casing"... They end up not interested in whatever you had for sale... But you get robbed a few days later...
Where I'm from they also use it to kill vulnerable hookers... But that's a different story!

Not everyone on the site is scum, and there are some great deals... Just be sure to use your head, and be prepared for ANY eventuality.
