    Default Greetings from Minnesota

Hello everyone. First post here. I have been browsing around for a short while and thought I would jump in and see what I can learn, and how I may be able to help others. A short bio: I'm a very outdoor oriented guy. I currently live in MN, but will be moving back to OR, where I have spent most of my life. Gotta get back to the mountains! I spend my days walking many miles delivering mail. In my off time, I am either in the shop grinding out another new knife, or just enjoying about anything a person can do outside. I look forward to absorbing more knowledge through this site.

    Welcome! Let's see some grinding!

Posting Pics - You have a couple of choices. You can use a photo service like photobucket (it's free) to store your photos. They provide all the code you need to post pics directly to the forum.

You can click on the Image icon in the tool bar at the top of the Quick Reply box (where you type out your message). It's at the right end of the tool bar. You can also upload video with the icon next to it.

    By the way, Welcome Home.

Oh, ok. If I can use Photobucket, no problem. I just wasn't sure the method was the same here. I'll get some pics of my most recent projects on here...
Thanks for all the warm welcome's!!!

The 2nd pic shows two that I just started yesterday. The middle one is finished, complete with Kydex sheath. All 1095 steel, and all will be finished with stainless Corby bolts and G10 scales. Hope you like!

Welcome, it's nice to meet you!
Really nice work. I'm particularly intrigued with the point of the knife on the right. Haven't seen that before and would love to know your thinking behind it.

Thank you. I actually reground that one due to just being unhappy about the outcome of what it was before. It was a traditional style hunting/skinning design, but it kind of bored me, so I chopped it a bit and made the tanto. I'm not a huge fan of them, but they can make a great utility tool if the edge is good and the material can withstand a good bit of abuse. I chose 1095 in all my knives for this reason. You can beat the dogsnot out of them and they can handle it well.

Well, I thought it was a tanto but the beveling kinda threw me off. Interesting.

I don't mind being up north so much, but where I'm at....desolate, bug ridden, and of course...COLD. Humidity is miserable. The salty pacific has been calling my name since I left!
