Thread: Censorship

  1. #1

    Default Censorship

Should we really see and hear and read everything, or are there some things people just shouldn't know? Should we trust that those deciding what we do or don't see are doing so for our best interests?

Of course there should be none of that. Everyone should have all of the facts before making any decision, no matter how wacked out it is. once you start censoring the populace no matter where it is you begin to create a state where nothing is truly free.

Nice first post. Nothing like choosing something to stir the pot. What's your point?

You should only believe what I tell you. You should only be allowed to read and view things that are cleared through me first. You don't need to know everything - just the things that I decide that you should know.

Seriously........what was the point of your post?

Agreed. First its not censorship if the powers that be do not release the information they posses. It is censorship when the powers that be prevent other sources from releasing information they posses. So which concept are we talking about? Censorship or non disclosure?

Well, it thought I knew the best gun, but I didn't have all the facts. So I ended up with the wrong one and I'm stuck with it.

That's only because the right info was censored by the powers that be to prevent you from making the best choice for you.

The problem with "censorship" is ... who's to then censor the censors?

Kinda like "gun control." Who's to then control the controllers?

Southard - That's information we don't want shared. In the future please clear all posts with a moderator in advance. We're here to help. Thanks.

Well - he/she/it did log on last night and look at this thread without responding. Probably a bored kid or troll. Either way - eh - who cares.

I quit using Facebook and have never used twitter , people say things in the heat of the moment on facebook and its a lasting impression , its hurtful , it can be said on forums as well , however Im sure Crash or Rick will delete such hurtful postings before they infuriate too many people , that is called censorship except its a good thing , do you want to stir up forum ? Words get **** because some people are sensitive to them , personally thats unrealistic to society but if it keeps the peace than that im cool with it , theres all kinds of censorship , ever heard "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" ? that is censorship as well and makes sense , theres many kinds of censorship out there I dont agree with it all , but you have to please the masses not the individuals !
If your looking to stir the pot here , go to one of the other forums , this site is the best site/forum you will find on wilderness / shtf survival anywhere out there, so sit back and learn or if you have a talent share it!

Apparently this troll mistook us for people that think they can solve the worlds problems by whining, speculating and ranting on the internet.

    And

Since this is a wilderness survival forum he might perhaps refer himself to an internet zone where the people prefer to sit NIFOC in their mom's basement and whine/rant/plot against their imagined oppressors. At this particular spot in the web we concentrate more on the best pocket stove or even the eternal big knife/little knife contridiction.

Apparently there is snow somewhere and folk are bored to distraction. This is the second thread of this nature posted by new people this week, with politics as the core topic rather than actual woodcraft or survival.

Perhaps they do not understand why we are here? Probably due to the general connection made by the uncensored left wing mass media with the words "survival" and "whacked out nut job". But that is exactly what one would expect if you allow people to say just anything that comes to their feeble little minds. Other people believe them and come to harass us with political discussion that they hope will reveal flaws in our personality and recruits for their FEMA prison camp.

This particular question does have striking resemblence to a question I would have asked on a survey course U.S. history exam. Our other rant of the week incorperated every "I'm going off grid" cliche ever seen/heard. Both were initial posts and I am beginning to think there is a conspiricy involved.

    Tin-foil! I need tin-foil!!

Oddly though, this thread has gone on for 24 hours and 20 posts. It reminds me of conversations with a wrong number on the telephone, or perhaps we are some of those people that simply can not hang up when we hear heavy breathing on the other end of the line?
