Took my Trade Gun for a walk the other day.

I took my Trade Gun for a walk in the woods the other day, trying to get a shot at a grouse. Saw two, but did not get a shot at either. I did take a few photos along the way, and figured I would share them. This place is just a very short drive from the house, and is a mix of BLM, and Forest Products managed land (Private, but open to hunt/walk on)
It was a nice and easy walk on an old logging road. Quite a few downed trees, but all in all a nice easy walk.

Still some nice sized trees in the area for second growth. This was logged in the late 50's or early 60's.

It has been a bit cold at night. Funny to see rocks float. (Pond is frozen under a skim of melt water).

Still warm enough for bear to be out and about though. It has been raining pretty hard, so this is not to old.

All in all, a pretty nice couple of hours in the woods.

Looks to be mainly nuts and berries. Still a few scraggly blackberries and huckleberries on the bushes. A couple of the older piles had some hair in them also (no pics of those). There was a sow and cubs in here a couple of years ago who killed quite a few deer (as well as decimated the grub population in the stumps). I figure this is one of her two cubs from then. At least it looks to be his tracks, but they were not all that clear with all the rain
