    Default North Korea leader dead

Good riddance to bad rubbish! Could not have happened to a better guy. I know that sounds coarse, but he virtually destroyed many generations of people in his own country and was a major contributor to misery world wide.
Although his son is untested, at least temporarily the world will be a bit safer for at least a little while. The good news is the "old despots" are kicking the bucket. Bad news, there will always be new ones.

His youngest son, his successor is in his 20', has been made a four star general, and has been groomed to take over. He is being called the Great Successor. While I hope that he leads North Korea in a new direction, I have my doubts. There was a short range missile test this morning. Having been to South Korea several times and seen that so much of what is done is done based on tradition and superstition - well - hopefully things change - for the sake of the people of that area and the rest of the world.

We can only hope, although it is debatable. Steady indoctrination, power & genes are an overwhelming head start to continuation of the same.
Look at Bashar al-Assad in Syria who took over from his father Hafez. Hardly an improvement.

I am one that is always glad to see a dictator bite the dust. You are right though, seldom does it result in a total reversal of course, but there is always a chance, however slim

Have you noticed the mourners? From a defectors book that I read, when Kim ll Sung (Kim Il's father) died, if you didn't show enough emotion you could be arrested. Looks like the same to me. I see a lot of wailing and few tears.

I am officially declaring myself the "Greatest Successor" so Kimmy Jr. is out. I'm packing my bags but I won't leave until after the holidays. I have some house cleaning to do when I get over there, too. The first order of business is to get a tailor in there and whip up some suits. I'm pretty sure polyester went out in the '70s. And if Kimmy Jr wants to hang around that's fine but the boy has got to lose some weight, get a decent haircut and get outdoors. I figure he's been eatin' HoHo's and playin' video games so I've got my work cut out for me right there. He'll probably throw a little North Korean tantrum when I take the games away.

I'm puttin' a gate in the fence at the DMZ and a Kentucky Fried Chicken and a McDonalds just inside the barbed wire on our side. We need to get some shoppers in from the south to spend a few won. Then I can walk around handing people money saying, "Hey! You won!" and "You won two!". "Hey! You won three." That should make some friends.

I got big ideas for that country.

    Please don't go, Rick!
We can use a brain like yours right here. Get your $hit kicking boots on, and run along to Iowa while there's still time.

Iowa. Hmmmmm. Okay. The first thing I'm gonna do is find a tailor. Then I'm gonna come up with a new first name for Newt. I mean, how can you take a guy named Newt seriously? Come on. I'm thinking Fred but that's just off the top of my head. And Mitt! What's up with that? Maybe Chester, I don't know. I'll give it some thought.

I don't want into politics, I just want to fix stuff. Here's a deal, let's move the Iowa primary to North Korea. Sure, that will work. We get the politicians out of our hair for a while and North Korea can see how democracy works, not that they'll be all that impressed but it beats a dictatorship by a good bit.

I had always thought a very large parking lot would be nice.

You got it, Hunter! That's the type of constructive ideas I'm looking for. A KFC, a Mickey D's and a large parking lot. BAM! It's a done deal.

Okay, okay. I can work with that. He's got that Cromagnon hippie thing goin' and the North Koreans might not trust their bicycles with him but they have to learn new things. So, yeah. We can make that work.

I can't do that. We'll start out with two getting on the airplane and one full one getting off.
