I fixed half a boston butt. (I wonder if that is called "one cheek"?) I started of with charcoal and cherry wood, but after about two and a half hours, I ran out of good charcoal, so I wrapped it in foil and finished it on the gas grill. While I was at it, I put a coupkle 'taters on there, made a pot of baked beans, (in my new cast iron pot.) and made some cornbread. (In my new cast iron skillet.) And yes....I did it all on the grill. Dinner turned out pretty good, for a dummy cook. LOL

Not much, since I've been on vacation. But when I got back, I was craving some good, homemade cooking. So I made my standby feel-good crockpot dish, posole.

As usual, we went elsewhere for T-day. The only thing I had to make was deviled eggs. In addition to the regular old boring ones, I made a plate of kicked up eggs:

These had homemade spicy grainy mustard, Wickles relish, and minced pickled onions in them, topped with a sprinkle of ancho chile, and a little nugget of bacon.

I pulled an old ham hock out of the freezer this morning. Hope to get some beans and greens made this weekend.

Looking at your food pictures is kind of like you going on your cruise. I think I put on 2 lbs every time you post.

Sorry, y'all! Think how much weight I'm gaining by actually eating it! I really need to start working out again.

On that note, here's how the posole turned out:

I used actual ancho chiles this time, instead of powdered. I'll never go back.

Yesterday, we worked in the yard ALLLLLLL DAYYYYYY. I was so flippin tired. Good thing I had some beans with smoked sausage in the crock, and greens simmering with a ham hock on the stove. It really hit the spot at the end of the day.

OK....I kinda cheated. I was going to make a peanut butter pie, but I was just too lazy to make a pie crust. Being resourceful, and using what was available, I just put the "filling" on top of that pan of brownies that was sitting there. LOL

Forgot to post this one, taken a while back.

Oven "fried" chicken, coated in corn flakes, with kale chips, and roasted cauliflower.

Do you know how many pills I'd have to take if I ate that? The Grim Reaper stops by my house a couple of times a week to check on me as it is.

I don't know how I still weigh 170, after going to the gym the other day I burned 500 calories on the treadmill. Then went to McDonalds and ate three hamburgers, a medium fry and large Coke totaling 1230 calories. I figured 500:1230 was a good ratio.....

Yeah, I weigh 170, too. I weigh 180, too. I weigh 200, too. I think we'll stop there before this gets ugly.

That does look good. Meat loaf is good on the night it's fixed and gooder as left overs.
