My Pressed Denatured Alcohol Stove

Hey guys just punched these out, what do you think? They are made from Aluminum beer bottles so they are pretty tough. They run on Denatured Alcohol and can boil water or cook eggs like no ones business. I have a new attachment for the top so the pot can sit on there without falling off, made out of Sawzall blades that interlock, making it a nice cutting device as well, but it's still in my shop.

i machined a die that i put on top of the can, put it in my hydraulic press and presto rolled edges

How is it that the flame goes to the holes instead of just burning in the middle. When I tried to enlarge the flame pictures the page always comes up blank.

When you light the middle it starts the alcohol in the middle boiling and creates a gas, which rises up to the holes where it's ignited. Once you but a pot on top the middle stops burning and the sides go full bore and heat your pot, it's elementary my dear watson!

Thanks for the pictures. I made a similar one a couple years ago after watching some videos. They're fun to make.


Edit: Now, I remember why they were fun to make. They were made from spun aluminum beer bottles. Duh!
