Sure Water straws?

So I got this link sent to me. Have any of you tried it? I use burkey right now, and have the travel bottles in my pack. I was thinking of getting one of these straws for each of us to add TO it. Any thoughts?

Personally, I think it's pretty expensive for what it does. For just a bit more money you could have a top of the line filtration system from MSR or Katadyn. I think the Katadyn Hiker Pro is around $40.00.

C, would you use that to drink directly from a stream or a lake?

I would. I'd certainly look for the "best" source, and if I needed to pre-filter turbidity in the water I'd use a bandana or t-shirt. A filter that small will clog quickly in silty or muddy water.

I have been looking at these for a while, don't remember where i saw it first.......But what's up with not selling it retail? in the USA?

Kinda make you wonder, as they appear to be collecting donations for use to buy them for Third World Countries, but not selling them?

If they did selll them, they could make a profit to be used.

I did make a couple of these as PICT posted a while back, seems to filter out mud and sand.....Still would boil it.

Added a 3/4 pvc coupler on each end, fits right over a plastic water bottle so you can just let it sit....while you do something else.

And I do carry one of the Aquamira Frontier Filter Straws from Safe Zone LLC in each bag.
