It has been a crappy week in East TN. Quite a few places hit over the last several weeks have been hit again. It's sort of depressing being in the middle of cleanup and recovery to only see the destruction come again.

Just got back from S.E. Missouri yesterday.
They have some serious flooding going on there.
It literally poured there the first 2 days we arrived.
Water running over the roads everywhere.
Wild T storms also.It was actually colder in Missouri 58 deg. than my home state of Ma. at 70 deg.

CULLMAN, Ala. - Some Southerners had as much as 24 minutes' warning that tornadoes were headed their way Wednesday, but the storms were too wide and powerful for people to escape their path.

There have been more tornadoes this month than in any other month on record, CBS News correspondent Elaine Quijano reports. More than 600 have been reported so far throughout the United States. The average for April is 160. The old record for any month was 542, in May 2003.

Had one to the right of the house about 3 miles away in White Ga., then had some on the left about 8 miles away going up through N. Bartow up towards Ringgold which got hit hard then on and on and on.

Lucked out this time.

My post earlier should have said S.W. Missouri.
I've been to the Joplin area many times and have stayed on Range Line Rd. just off Rt. 44.
Actually,I was at the Olive Garden last month that is less than 1/2 mile from ground 0.
Our main branch for the company is just a few towns over.We didn't lose anybody from there.
My thoughts and prayers are with those people.Some of the nicest folks I've met on the road.

My in-laws just had an F4 rip through their neighborhood. Luckily they are ok and no real damage. They are near OKC.

There is a tornado on the ground, 8 miles north of Joplin, close to Carl's Junction right now.

I visited Carl Junction shortly after the last tornado ripped through there about 4 years ago.It was surreal to see all the leaves and tree tops gone.
We have lost 2 folks in the Joplin twister,an IT guy from my home branch and his wife.

We also had 2 folks survive but lost their houses.It's a terrible year so far.
I know this Joplin area quite well.Those folks have always been nice to this Northern guy.
