Dual Fuel Coleman Lantern?

Anyone know if I can mix gasoline over the top of a half filled tank of white lantern fuel in my dual fuel lantern? Last minute question before I leave for the weekend...Afterthought...wanted a backup lightsource as I plan to run the propane jobs but thought why not back them up with the dual fuel...

All modern Coleman lanterns and stoves are actually dual fuel. Unleaded fuel contains additives that white gas does not so fouling can occur with the generator over time but the addition of gasoline won't be an issue. White gas is just gasoline that has been further refined and doesn't contain the additives. If yours has the little handle you can rotate to clean the generator needle valve then you'll likely never have an issue. Have fun!

He does know his lanterns! BTW Rick, I used your BB trick to clean fuel tank on my Coot the same as you use on Coleman lanterns and it worked like a charm. Thanks!

You're quiet welcome. That works oh so well on many a fuel tank. I'm glad I was of service.

Here's a little factoid for ya'll. Back in the day when I cruised main street all night on 50 cents worth of gas (My 52 Chevy Panel Wagon was the cat's meow. Okay it was all rusty and the fenders did wobble but I got from here to there. Anywhoooo) all gasoline was leaded. If you wanted to run Coleman gear you had to buy "white gas", which was nothing more than regular gasoline without the lead additive. Now you know.
