One last thing about Marcinko, that Crashdive missed. After the Large succes of his book Rogue warriors book. The goverment changed Navy SEAL Team Six to United States Navy Special Warfare Development Group or DevGroup for short. They did this so in a press confrence the Goverment represntative could honestly say that SEAL theam six did not exsist lol.

And yes the other Navy guy was Richard (Demo Dick) Marcinko the Sharkman of the Delta, met him one time up at JSOC.

And PA... Shughart and Gordon were awarded the Medal of Honor after their deaths for going in and protecting Chief Michael Durant (he was a warrant officr) I knew Durant before the 160th was SOAR, back when it was
Task Force 160, he fly my scout team onto a building rooftop in Haiti in 1987.

And for the record before someone on here says it, it is the Medal of Honor and not the Congressional Medal of Honor which people say wrongly all the time.

Woa Beo you knew Shugart before he was in SOAR thats pretty amazing! Also can you give me the diffrence between the Medal Of Honor and the Congressional Medal of Honor anyone? Just so i dont make the mistake that Beo mentioned.

ProudAmerican, I said I knew Chief Michale Durrant (he was a warant oficer) when the 160th SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment) was called Task Force 160th, he flew my scout team into Haiti in 1987 to a building rooftop, as for Shughart and Gordon never met them. The Medal of Honor and the Congressional Medal of Honor are the same thing, but it is not the Congressional Medal of Honor its just the Medal of Honor. A lot of people say the congressional Medal of Honor but that is wrong. It is awarded by congress but not called that.

The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government, similar to the British Victoria Cross or the French Legion of Honor. It is bestowed on a member of the United States armed forces who distinguishes himself "…conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States…" Because of its nature, the medal is commonly awarded posthumously.
Members of all branches of the U.S. military are eligible to receive the medal, and each service has a unique design with the exception of the Marine Corps and Coast Guard, which both use the Navy's medal. Due to its high status, the medal has special protection under U.S. law.
The Medal of Honor is one of only two military neck order awards issued by the United States Armed Forces and the Medal of Honor is the only neck order issued to members of the U.S. Armed Forces. While American military personnel can be awarded the Legion of Merit, they are awarded the Legionnaire's Degree, which is a standard suspended medal.
