I'll give you my two cents - I am a railroader and have found myself many times in the middle of nowhere with just my knife, lantern and radio. For the last ten years I have relied many times on my leatherman WAVE - love it!!!! I like it because it has 2 knives and a saw - the scissors are kind of lame but everything else is great.

    Default Skeletool CX

I don't have personal experience with this model (Skeletool CX), but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

IMHO, for the cost vs quality, locking tools and easy usability, it's the Wave.

Obviously everyone has their own preferences. I have a gerber that I do not particularly care for because when I use the pliers they pinch my skin painfully between the steel handles and it's not that stainless ie it rusts easy. I love my titanium handled leatherman charge I particularly love it because it has a removable pocket clip so I dont have to wear a sheath. The sheath can accept the pliers open which is nice for fishing to so you dont have to fumble with both hands and the rod to open the thing it's already open.

Winchest Arms makes a great one.
There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.
