Hobby Lobby raises wage

Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., which has more than 470 arts and crafts stores in 39 states, is increasing its minimum-wage rate to $12 an hour for full-time hourly employees. The company also announced a minimum-wage increase for part-time employees to $8.50 an hour.

This is the third consecutive year Hobby Lobby has increased minimum wages. About 13,800 hourly employees, including several hundred in El Paso, will be affected. Hobby Lobby's new minimum wage is more than 65 percent above the federally mandated minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.

"Hobby Lobby has been able to grow steadily during a national recession, and we want to thank our employees for their hard work and allow them to share in the company's success," said David Green, CEO and founder of Hobby Lobby.

Nice post. I think that's true Randy. The leadership establishes and supports the culture. If they treat their employees honestly and fairly then the majority of those employees will treat the customer in the same fashion.
