I think I would offer it a beer and a place to hang out, learn its language, get interested in its living habits.....maybe even teach him/her to shoot and give it a nice classic lever action and some ammo....that sure would teach the arses to shoot at something when it starts shooting back LOL

Unless I was attacked and in danger of death...I do not think I would shoot one just for proof, I certainly do not need the money, I hate fame and dang sure I do not need another thing living in my house. I would leave him/her be and try to create a working relationship over time with it. Watercress/tater/onion Perogies are a great builder of friendships

I am thinking BF would be a classic arms shooter rather than an EBR freaktoid........

I saw one near Hope wearing a tactical vest riding a mountain bike. I followed it to an out house without a door and didn't want to see anymore!

The local bigfoot is called Kooshnakaa. It is appropriate to offer it tobacco.
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

There are lots of names for him up here. And at the risk of sounding like a big ol' flake, I will admit that I saw "something" that I could not explain, in the wilds of New Mexico many years ago. It may or may not have been big foot but I sure can't explain it any other way.

Sure, I at least believe that it can exist. Same with the Loch ness monster, There are all kinds of creatures that get discovered or rediscovered. Remember the Ivory Billed woodpecker video? (I think it was the Ivory billed), last seen in the 20's or 30's and assumed extinct but one showed up on video a few years ago.

I see no reason that such a creature can't exist. Scientists regularly discover new species that were previously unknown, and sometimes species thought to be extinct.
Proving they do exist is much easier than proving they don't exist. There is lots of evidence that they do, and if 99% is hoax and if even 1% of it is real, that's enough. Robinson Crusoe was smart enough to know he wasn't alone when he say one footprint on the beach, he didn't need more proof than that.
Wherefore, let us be thankful that there are still thousands of cool, green nooks beside crystal springs, where the weary soul may hide for a time, away from debts, duns and deviltries, and a while commune with nature in her undress. ~ George W. “Nessmuk” Sears ~

I once saw a guy with a size 18EEE so, yeah, big feet exist. What's that? Oh, you mean Sasquatch. Nope, in order for Sasquatch to exist there would have to be a breeding population large enough to be self sustaining. They just don't have the range for a herd (covey, pride, gaggle?) of BigFeet to roam wild and free. A population that large would have turned up dead ones or at least a few that like to party.

Most of the species that are newly discovered are small organisms in inaccessible places. Rick is absolutely right, any extant species must have a stable breeding population. Large mammals require large amounts of food and large areas to forage for that food. Think about the amount of food you consume every day. We live relatively sedentary lifestyles, thus our caloric requirements are much lower than a large active mammal that must forage constantly for food. Think about how much area it would require to sustain you and your family, living on nothing but what you can forage. No cultivated crops and no commercially produced meat. No firearms to use for hunting and no vehicles used to travel. Not only would it require a huge area and 14 hours a day, it would require all of this activity to take place completely unobserved.

I think it very improbable that bigfoot exists. A large mammal, living in an area as populated as the United States, would have left at least some scientifically valid evidence.

Not if he was a smart mammal.

Think for a minute too about what you just said. How much range would it take to sustain you (a large mammal) in the wild? Now multiply that by 6 Billion people...Don't think that's gonna work out so well if TSHTF...
