Default I know you like pics and I was walking about, so...

I was walking a dog, and looking for a good mast for my next boat project. I needed a round, straight and right thickness at right heights kind of spruce with very little branches. Hard to come by. So, with the mast searching and dog walking I took some pictures too, and thought to share them with you.

Took this with me for field testing.

The woodland is less snowy than the fields.

I set the camera on timer and took some photos of my own ugly face! With the dog in the pics too.

With no potential masts on that trip, we begin to return home, and go past this little stream and a nice little lake.

It was a nice little walk in the "backyard" with the dog, camera and knife. (and space blanket, matches, fire steel, colt lighter, mobile phone, dry tinder and a small roll of 0.6mm iron wire.

How did the Sissipuuko hold up?
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

@Sourdough. I sometimes get the little boxes with the red x's too. Sometimes when I look at them later, the pictures are there. I don't have an explanation - just wanted you to know it's not just you.

Sometimes on slower connections that happens. You can right click on the X and it should show an option to load picture or show picture then it should come up.

That must be planted forest, "tree farm" as we call 'em around here, managed, thinned?????? Would love to have some of that to get out and about in. It's starting to get more that way here, finally, hope I can still get around in the woods when they start to mature.

Not planted, since the last logging they left what we call seed-trees, those trees make some baby trees that grow to big trees... lol. Yes, its privately owned forest that is managed and thinned. This is true with most of the forests in this country. Where I was is our neighbor's forest.

Ouch, it's Sissipuukko m95! Could you imagine any sensible person using a Mora! No way!

Snow is cold and wet, it's over rated, especially after long winter. But I do love the woodlands.
