Default what would you do with $1,000,000 ?

Just for fun what would you do it you were given a millon dollars to spend anyway you want to? Would you build the mac daddy of all retreats? Invest it? gift it?

As for me I added it up and for about 600k of it I'd pay off the "retreat" put in the big utah underground shelter, stock it, add a few extra weapons and ammo, pay off the rest of our debts, but a couple of ATV's buy the stuff to work on being self sufficent,( bees chickens, turkeys, pigs, etc. put in shelter and food for a couple years for them. A vet fund, plant fruit trees and berry plants at the retreat. purchase the other property and still use about 100k for a maintenance fund, I'd likely use another 200k for investments of some type and the remaining 200k for helping friends/ family prep.

Like I said this is a kinda fun thing to "dream" about.
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.

    LOL, NOT ENOUGH!
I watched the "Millionaire" years ago, (when million was worth a LOT more then it is today) seemed most every one's dream kinda didn't turn out so well.

I can't really say, but I guessing a lot of it would get passed on, and it seems that working for something tend to make it "funner".

If you have it, you want more, and just gives you more to worry about..........So I'll suffer and give y'all a report, when can I expect the check?

OS, your goals are very valid, seems to me you have given this some thought, and are real close to mine (ours).
That is what we are working for, and getting ther slow but sure.............

I would become debt free and build my gparents a new house. I would also help my uncle through college (he's actually going back to school at the ripe age of 50) and my cousins as well.

And of course I would help my mom out anyway I could. As for the rest I would try to invest it smartly and hope it pans out so I could have something to give my kids when the time comes.

I just couldn't see myself with having that much money, nor would I want to be put in the position of having it. I would like to think I would do the things I have listed, but who knows? I would rather stay the man I am now than to have the money and become someone different.

I have what I need in this lifetime. I would take the money and create a dedicated wilderness land dedicated to folks that want to practice wilderness survival. An on your honor place that YOU maintain and upkeep. Various areas with users making wild edibles areas... shelter areas....etc..... would it work, I dunno, I am sure some would abuse it and the resources, but for the most part I believe users would keep it usable.

$1 million isn't that much money. I'd invest it.

    1. Help out some family members that need it.
    2. Pay off existing debt.
    3. Buy a new tractor.
    4. Do some repairs to the barn foundation.
    5. Invest the remainder.

I'm not that into possessions, but I would like stability that owning a home would bring. I'd invest enough to provide enough of an income to retire, make sure the family had a bit to do with as they pleased, and then divide a good portion between my favourite charities(Royal British Legion, Help for Heroes, Ghurka Welfare Trust, Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Barnados'.)

    10% to God.

Pay off all my debt as well as my family members.

Purchase a larger more remote farm, and make it energy independent.

That should make me just about broke again, but without home or energy bills.

    Just kidding, really.

I would use part of it to purchase land and start a survival training school for missionaires. Each year I wind up training a half dozen city slickers on staying alive in west Africa and Central America and having my own buildings and land would help. I know of several parcels that border on the Daniel Boone National Forest so I could add that area to the training free of cost.

Wait a minute. You could buy into some property in Idaho and save the rest. You'd have a lot more money for spuds that way. (spuds...I slay myself)

I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

Yeah, the lanes cleaned up real nice. They just weren't as long as they had planned. But they're survivors. They adjusted.
