Sam: No need to apologize. Just remember it's the little butt***** that have the problem, not you. Their immaturaty is blaringly evident when they assault individuals. Again, no need to apologize.

I wasn't there but from your explanation I'd have to say the cop was just plain wrong. No one should have to endure harassment for walking down the street. Especially for displaying military insignia. I think I would have followed up with a call to the PD about it. He could have said something to them while you went on your way and that would have been the end of it.

Yup the cop was wrong, the people were wrong, and no need to apologize.

    Default Hey Sam

The cop that you approached is the one who needs to apologize, not you dude.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

I was home on leave one time during the vietnam war (I know, it is a different time)... walking down the street and a hippy chick came up and spit on my full dress uniform. Hmm, no cop around... I just stood there and let her rant about me being a baby killer and stared at her all the while. Went on for about 5 minutes and I just gave her a pathetic look and walked away.

On the other hand, What would that protester be doing if you took him and put him on the front line in Bahgdad or Aphganistan? I know somebody that always says.. "Give those protesters a job and they wouldn't have time to protest".. I'll agree with that and I hope this helps..

I would have, after talking to the cop, had trouble not ***** slapping a few of them.

The law reads. If you feel threatened, you have a right to defend yourself. This might have gotten me in trouble but I bet the cop does something the next time. And the fools holding their throats, trying to breath, would think twice about getting in someone face again.

To let you know. I once spent a weekend in a cell for correcting someone that called me a baby killer and tried to spit on me! Yes it was worth it!
