    Default Black & White Photography

When I was younger I had a little dark room and dabbled in black & white photography. I used to buy my 35mm film in bulk and load my own rolls of film, process it and print. I enjoyed the processing part in the dark room. Shading one area or burning in another to achieve the desired effects was always a challenge, but very rewarding when the end product was what you wanted. With digital photography I am rekindling my passion for photography. Here are some B&W pics. I'll add to the thread from time to time.

If you've got some B&W pics - share them here!

Those are great pics. Having grown up with black and white photos, like many of you, there is a nostalgic love for the subtle blend of light and dark. Sometimes, they can be more beautiful than today's color photos. For the younger set, google some of Ansel Adams work. It's probably the very best examples of black and white photography. Crash's, of course, would be second.

Yup, I'm a fan of black and white photos too. It can often capture far more detail and atmosphere than colour.

I am currently working on and having some old B&W photos, some are even sorta brown and gray, cleaned up and enlarged.
Family stuff, from the 1920's of relatives I had never seen pic's of before, and were just found after the passing of an Aunt at age 98.

I just love the "old timey stuff" can y'all tell.

Crash those are just beautiful, thanks.

Some times I wish I was better at this photo stuff, but the digital camera at least allow me to take a lot of pic's with out costing me a fortune for developing.

But every artist need an audience, and I can be a good audience.

Those are really good, Reb. That black and white of the snow scene really brings out the bleakness of winter.

    Here's one I call midnight.

some excellent shots there. B&W is so stark and shows texture so well.
