    Mountain1,
Wait, I'm confused. Maybe its my brain rot from TV and video games in my overly complex urban lifestyle, but did you not say that you simple mountain folk don't have time to ponder the complex inner workings of our facist prying government, yet you started this very thread, A thread about the government and how it is supposedly illegally spying on the lives of its citizens. The only conclusion I can draw from this is that simple mountain folk have just as much time to come up with crackpot conspiracy theories as us urbanites.

You know, its funny, I deal with socialite snobs somewhat regularly. Never imagined there were off the grid snobs too. Guess what; Everyone is a "slave" to the lifestyle they have chosen. You have things in your lifestyle that you have to do or you will die (or at the least, be miserable). There are things that suck and things that are great about both sides of the line.

Alright - a couple of things. Let's all stop the BS. I know it's hard to let some comments go without responding, but in this case I would politely ask that everybody let it go. Thank you.

Also - Camp - you attributed your quote to the wrong person.

Seriously, at this point in my life, i agree. I don't think I will ever move more than a half and hour from town again. I am just too tired. I don't mind if I still run on solar, keep a small garden and my goats but nothing bigger. A vacation would be nice for a change.

my wife and i have to take seperate vacations (our "vacations" are backpacking/hunting trips or going to see our familys-mine is in alabama-hers idaho). last year i didn't go anywhere. she did her annual 2 week wilderness girls backpacking trip with her best friend. this year she's doing the same and then i'm going on a 2 week solo traditional bowhunting trip for elk in the bob marshell willderness. shes also going to visit her brother in NC for a couple of weeks. i'm staying here to take care of everything. as she does when i'm gone. it's nice to have two people to split things up so we can still do some things. but mostly we would prefer to never leave the area. it's beautiful here with elk too but i just want to go hunting this year-there-by myself. just the same as she wants to go on a 80 mi backpacking trip with her best friend.
me me me jump up and down hooray... it's all about planning...
plan and take that vacation! you'll enjoy it...

    Cool Hmmmm...

Conspiracy Theory: I saw that movie; Mel Gibson was in it! For the record, the Feds have jurisdiction over every state in this country, including Montana. Forget the Pot farms, many criminals are now running Meth labs in our National Forests. Anyway, the Feds can fly drones over my place all they want; even bug the house...boy, are they gonna be bored out of their fricken' skull! Here's the thing, stay on the right side of the law & no problems! Remember, the laws are there to help you keep those freedoms that we talk about on here.

And a final "Sheep joke:" A city boy & a country boy was walking down a country road when they came across a sheep with it's head stuck in the fence.

"Man," the city boy said, "I wish that was a nice looking chick instead of a sheep stuck there!"

The country boy had a winsome look on his face & said: "I just wish it was dark!"

    I also loved that Navy/Crowbar comment...really funny!

nice!!! i like the joke. never heard it
but, the feds have no jurisdiction over any state. ever heard of the 9th and 10th admendment of the little thing called the constitution? the county sheriff has more "authority" than any dam& fed. the federal goverment was formed by the states. not the other way around. i'm all about succession, but i know it will never happen because politicians are cowards.
none has any jurisdiction over a human being. i am alive so i am free...
that is the problem... people think that other people have the right to 'control' them. i call that slavery.
the feds mean absolutly nothing to me. it's MY life leave me be...
we did it once we can do it again

Never heard of them. I'm really glad that you're an authority on this stuff! Can you explain it all to me? In detail? Statute and case law citations would be really appreciated.

I'd be really grateful if you would help me understand all of this. This kinda' stuff has always confused me. Especially that 1794 case, Penhallow v. Doane, and that other one, from 1819, Mcculloch V. Maryland. What were they all about?
