Hi Folks,

Been reading a little on this site, looks like some knowlegable folks here. My interests include fishing,hunting and shooting black powder firearms and slingshots. Like many folks I've been concerned about the state of things in this country and the world generally. I like to raise veggies mostly in containers cause I live on a small town lot. A couple of years ago I bought a camp property in the White Mts of NH and put a 16 foot diameter Yurt on it. Its my country retreat, primitive but more comfortable and secure than tent camping. That makes the wife happy. I use a cool composting toilet there which seems to work well. Gradually making improvments to the property. Lots of Moose, bear, coyotes etc. in the woods around it. Hope I can glean some wisdom about self sufficiant living from you all.

No, but the guy I bought it from puts a lot up for folks who do live in them year round. I'm still trying to decide the best way to heat it for winter visits.

Hello! I am in NH too. Is it a canvas job from White Mountain Yurts? Awesome people. Yurts are as good as Pacific.
Wood stoves heat them up just fine when used properly. Hang some heavy or thick blankets and rugs on the walls (or lattace work) to add extra insulation. Enjoy! We just loved our yurt, but moved on after 3 years.
