Default I didnt ask Santa for this!!

Man, less than a week to go before Christmas and I had to go to the ER! I cut my finger trying to get a knife done for my boss' nephew. He wanted it as a Christmas present and I was way ahead of schedule until I did this...

I have to go out to the shop and see what I actually did, I really have no idea how it got me...it isnt sharpened yet and I usually leave them without an edge until they are done but something got me....

Oh da$# camp; don't do that. I hope it wasn't a bad one.

Check your hurry at the shop-door, though i suppose i should follow my own advice; i did the same thing a couple months ago and a similar thing he week before last.

I dont even know what or how I cut it..that knife is dull as ell. It is pretty bad though..several stitches and a splint. I looked at the cut when it happened and could see the meat under the skin so I knew I wasnt going to just wrap it electrical tape and keep going.

last time i cut mine was drilling a pin-hole. i decided not to clamp it down, since the drill usually doesn't bind harder than i can hold down. came within a fraction of a second of reflex, or less than an inch of taking the finger off.

last time i injured myself i just sucked my finger in between the tool rest and wire brush on the grinder.

still; you'd be surprised what electrical tape can fix

That must have been like a really bad rug burn! Ouch! The good part about cuts like mine is they wont really hurt for a few days and then it is more of an itch. Your right about electrical tape.

Camp I hope you heal soon. Always hate those injuries that I'm not sure just how they happened. At least when you know what happened you can make changes so you don't do it again. Case in point. If I'm using a hacksaw I always use a vise or a clamp. Never hold what you're sawing with the off hand. It can and will roll and or twist. Believe me , one stroke with a hacksaw can almost remove a thumb.

I take it you have no pinky pickin' skills! Hope you heal up fast! An unpicked nose can be very annoying!

You guys should contract this work out. It will save you all kinds of pain in the end.

My best advice. Soak it in cider.
