Well that's just great. We'll have to stand around until he gets back. Do you know how cold it is at his place? Dang it!

That's it. I'm just staying home. It's too cold to get out anyway. You just watch, with the world ending there won't be anything good on TV.

Yeah....and come to think of it, I think I'll go to Ken's instead. It's closer, and I'm sure that Ken will have it warm, at his place! LOL

We sent in a dealer application to them last week, they told us they aren't signing up new dealers until late spring. Now we know why.

they do. for the pakistani example, we've contributed about $450 million to the relief effort. that's about $1.45 per citizen and it's a drop in the bucket to what we spend domestically. I haven't got much to my name, but if it's a really big problem i'll personally reimburse your buck-forty-five.

i'd rather see us stop wasting money than stop giving where it helps. i'm willing to bet there'd be more than enough for everybody to earn what they will.

Canid, To stop wasting money, first they must stop spending money they/we don't have! I am just sick and tired of us pissing money away in countries where they quite frankly hate us. Granted their hate for us is irrational as they have been indoctrinated to hate us but then why should I want or need to help a potential enemy?

If, you have a government contract you can say and do as you please. Then, raise the price and no one complains. (as long as the mgrs and the govt's have their azz'z covered). We got a clue. Package your own.

i feel the same frustration, pretty much all the way around the board.
i think 20 million people put out by this flooding are likely to think better of the US, the UN and the other major contributors who have helped put a roof back over their heads, food in their stomaches and/or clothes on their backs in response to the emergency. You don't see the TTP contributing a lot of relief, do you? we could probably use a lot more people asking pakistan that question, come to think of it.

whether we have the money or not, we're spending it. i'm still far happier to see it doing good for people (us and others) than on needless junk.

the fat needs to be trimmed, but not where it's actually needed.

Same here my friend sells me any MH or other stuff at his cost. Which means I get the #10 cans for about a dollar a can higher than MH charges, I just don't have to pay the high shipping costs.

If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.

I have not seen anything at Fedbizops about an solicitation or an award. Should be there if it was a bid contract. (It may still be there, but my search skills are not that good on the site now that I no longer have the access that I used to).

Well, here's what I read and the reason I asked the question. I don't necessarily put a lot of stock in the web site but he does say he spoke directly with the Sales Mgr at MH via email.

"When asked what the cause for the atypical demand may be, Ms. Cornutt said, “we have nothing concrete, but we believe this is contributing to most of it - Federal reserve talking about buying $600 billion worth of treasury notes, which could de-value the USD, hence causing inflation fears. In addition, we have had many Americans call and express concerns with our current government.”

Though recent reports suggest that US Emergency service agencies, law enforcement and the military have stepped up preparedness efforts, Ms. Cornutt rebuffed rumors that the Federal government may be responsible for acquiring much of the food for emergency services preparations saying, “the Federal Government/FEMA are not making large purchases of our Mountain House #10 cans.”
