There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.

PGV - I'll try and make it either day - Friday is a bit easier for me, but survival isn't about easy.
Those sub guys got nothin' to do but sit around and think up witty stuff. In the old days he would have been manning the oars.

Hey pgv, you anywhere near Columbus? I'm heading there on at the end of the month for UFC 82. Ringside row 3 on the 50.....yeah baby!
O.K. everyone, the final date and time for the forum is Friday 2/22/08 at 8:00 pm. I hope this works for a few more people. If not, look forward to other forums like this in the future. See you next week!![]()

i'll be there on friday i've gotta few things to say about how everytime these scenarios come up we are just magically transported there w/o equipment in the rangers they taught us to always be prepared(or was that the cub scouts) i would never be caught 200 miles from nowhere w/o equipment(unless i just escaped from prison) in which case beo is always typing on his computer so i'll just bumpertag him back to the donut shop..
always be prepared.
I will try to make it, Friday will be easier for me because sun-thurs i have to go to sleep with the chickens to wake up at ungodly hours, although i have hardly any experience in this sort of thing, i think it would be interesting to give it a shot...the worst that can happen is i learn a few tricks of the trade

You Ranger troublemakers are all alike. PGV sent you there in his transporter and you're lucky he didn't drop you there in your skivvies.
NOTE: To all Rangers (see, I capitalized that out of respect) everywhere. Just a joke. I don't wish to die a silent death (or any other kind for that matter).

I'm with WE on this one, and thanks Twinkie for capitalizingand making trouble is what what we're good at, destroying trouble is the end result, drive on though you be the lone survivor.
WE as a fellow Ranger it'd be my duty to see you made to your destinationRangers Lead the Way bro,

Hello Everyone,
I'm back from the Adirondacks, it was a great trip and we had a lot of fun. I'll be available most of this week if you have any questions about Friday's forum. I hope many of you can make it and have given some thought of what you would do under the situation that has been given.
There will be no need to debate how you got there or why you were not better prepared. This is a training scenario that is designed to test your skills under a limited situation. We all know that preparation is key to going into the wild. Focus on what you have available, what the land has to offer, and the objective of traveling through that terrain for two hundred miles. Focus on what you have and not what you don't have.![]()

ok i'll play along with your "training" exercise but the guys who rely on their knives and tents are really gonna be upset that they can't have their pacifiers with them.
I believe most of the people interested in this scenario will have more advanced skills and will work their way through it. There's many options that can be applied, no one answer is best. The more they look into it, describing their decisions, and applying a plan of action, the better the response to the forum. Others can compare and learn at the same time.
