What the heck is the point of power loading fuel into a Dakota hole fire? If you need that much fuel to cook on, what are you doing wrong? And since a Dakota hole fire is not really used as a heat (as in warming bodies) fire or a light fire. There is no reason for it to be power fed. Someone explain that to me.

Creek bank stove is much better for concealment. Get down inside the banks. 1.5 ft from top of bank, digout a 1 ft square hole, top of hole 6" or so from ground level (up out of the creekbed). Poke a "chimney hole" down from top of bank. Now a fire's light can only be seen from inside the creekbed. Do your cooking only right after dusk, and move at least a mile after the cook, because someone might have smelled the smoke or the food.
You know, if you only knew what you were talking about, you might actually be dangerous. Think about this, it is after dusk as you said, and you have a 1 foot square fire hole in the side of the bank. Where do you think the light from that fire is going to radiate to??? You are going to light up that creekbed and the trees around it .
