Never put a tin roof on a house under oak trees. Scared the crap outta me the first time I heard one crack on the roof. Sounded like a gunshot.

Nothing eats the acorns here. It's weird cuz last year was a bumper crop too. Usually they rest a year. I have to shovel the stupid things or they sprout all over, get cut off by the lawn mower and become so many punji sticks if you happen to go out in bare feet or mocs.

The storm was not as bad as predicted here. Windy and rainy off and on. The creeks are back up to their late spring levels. But that's it. I'd say we needed the rain.

That's for sure!! My house is surrounded by oak trees, and my back patio/deck is built around a few... From mid August until now you've needed a hard hat to sit outside!!
