You are in my prayers. I will pray that you can get the job soon and then be able to get a place again. Take care my friend.

Proof of a higher power, is the power of a horses stride. Line for line, grace and majesty, taking me for a ride.
Hoosier, you may have said it...but I can't find it. What is your skill set? What did you do for a living?

I've been a chef(and every other restaurant position), concert and night club security, Marine(sniper), shipping and receiving manager, a interior house painter, a janitor, sales clerk, cashier. I've published poems and short stories and "how to" articles in magazines and anthologies, been a landscaper, newspaper delivery(to the paper boys) and a farm hand. I've also been a substitute teacher and am a fair hand at teaching people how to work with computers or doing anything I know how to do. I've also been a better than average babysitter.
Sorry to hear that bud, I know nursing homes are always hiring though if you don't mind the dirty part of the job. They usually start at 10 or so an hour if not your not a certified aide, but it's a good start. Some places will even train/certify you.
If you have any interest in Middle Tennessee you can send me your resume. I have no problem helping a fellow Marine. I work as a Software Specialist for Nissan. The plant I work at is gonna hire around 20 something people to work the assembly line. If you have any experience with SQL, C++, Cimplicity or PLC's then I might be able to get you a interview with my department. Also I have a buddy how owns a electrical company in GA if you know that trade. Matter of fact just PM if your interested and we can discuss details. I won't be around the net till Monday night but let me know either way.

There is employee copay (about $60/check) on the benefits BUT there are benefits.
Looked at an apartment, not great but it is a place to live. I'd like something nicer(it falls just short of what I call a decent place to live.) I'll keep looking.
Congratulations............wow some relief.
Well this is the type of job that once you're in you can count on having it as long as you like. Barring a major screw up and I don't do those........usually. My cousin, who helped me get this job has worked there since she was 19, I think, and she is older than me so over 30 years without many complaints by her. Oh I forgot to tell you what the job is.... Hospital Food Service. I play me cards right and I'll be made responsible for all the hospital's outside catering. Even if that doesn't happen I'll be making a living wage with a schedule that will allow me to make more money other ways.
Excellent news. Congratulations!

Great news Curtis, I'm happy for you. If you get down this way I'll buy you a celebratory beer (or two)
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.
Congratulations! This is truly excellent news!
