Default Are any of our members being hit by the storm moving up the northeast?

I was just wondering if any of y'all are being hit or are in the path which is going to be affected by the storm that is dropping so much rain the past few days?

Waitin for it. 3 to 5 inches of rain expected tonight. The wind has really picked up. Went out and picked up everything I didn't want blown to the next county.

I guess we aren't getting much of anything tonight, it is suppose to pick up in the morning. I also picked up the yard, I'm a little worried about construction cones, signs and other junk left by the company that is rebuilding the street in front of the house, as they didn't pick up anything, but then when we were suppose to get Earl, they didn't pick up anything then either. I am also worried about two trees in the front yard, silver maples, up very close to the power lines, the company that trims trees for the power company has really butchered them, and now they are pretty weak. We shall see.

We had over 4 inches of rain today. Some areas locally had 6+ inches. It is raining now, and more is still headed this way, tonight. Since Sunday, a bunch of places around here have had 12+ inches of rain, and I saw on the news that a few places have had 17+.

I think it's supposed to be done here, by midnight or so.

The orders from work are to show up tomorrow morning with a bag packed and be ready to travel...Usually this means that nothing will happen. So far it is slightly breezy outside and there is a very light drizzle. I think I heard the worst will be very early tomorrow morning, 2 or 3ish.

I shut down outside operations yesterday because we had a 100% chance of rain. But, it was mainly a steady light rain. No big event.

I'm surprised at how few people are without power, around here. The wind hasn't been very bad at all, but with days worth of heavy rains saturating the ground, I expected trees to be falling with the slightest breeze.

I hope the same hold true up here. Dont get me wrong, I like my job and like storm work but I have things to do this weekend and dont want to end up on the coast working all those finger peninsulas.

I understand. At my parents place, they didn't get near the rain that we did. I was thinking about going out there this weekend, and spending a day, or two, in the woods. The weather forcast for their area is clear sky's, highs around 70, and lows in the upper 40's. That sounds like my kind of camping weather! LOL

We didn't get it too bad here - maybe a couple of inches of rain. I was in the Miami area Monday and Tuesday for a conference - the drive home Tuesday night was through a driving downpour most of the way.

They've changed the forecast a little for this storm here in Maine. It was suppose to be bad through the night and taper off through today. Now it is suppose to be building late morning and into the afternoon. There are several outages from a first round that came through during the night but not not many of them are in the area I work in. I suspect I will be shipped out of town this morning unless the "higher ups" are smart enough to hold people back for the second round.

We had lot of wind all day and night.Today it looked like we were in for some serious rain. But we got one band of poring rain for an hour and then it started tapering off.
Talking about acorn,NightShades.Holy smokes what a bumper crop this year.I don't know if it was the dry summer or what. But the deer have plenty to eat this winter.
