I've about had it with these reality shows

Watched the season finale of the colony tonite. And I have to tell you I am livid!!! First they plan an attack on the group that has been hassling them, fine! But it is supposed to be coordinated with their escape on the boat. They make the attack, run off with their supplies and get back to the compound. Is the boat loaded and ready to go???? NO!!!!! Do they take the supplies directly to the boat??? NO!!!! VOPA shows up with 2 vehicles and tells them they have room for only 2 people. I would have draged the VOPA A-Holes out of their vehicles, taken the vehicles and left them in the compound. But no what happens is the welfare/entitlement teacher jumps right up and dives into the vehicle......good riddance to bad garbage!!! Of course while all this is going on, their security "expert" still hasn't taken control and gotten them moving to the boat. It takes the milita group storming their compound to get them moving when they should have already been long gone. For the most part, I like the concept, but quite frankly, I would have used several of them for bait a long time ago!

I watched about 10 minutes of it. The worst part about it is it's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back. The best part was the commercial.

I watched one episode of the first season and didn't watch any of the second. A bit too contrived with wanna be actors IMO.

Yeah, it was stupid right from the "get-go!" I watched a few minutes of the very 1st episode, seen that Mykel Hawke or Bear Grylls wasn't going to be in it to maybe make it better,(Now that's BAD!) so I changed the channel & haven't looked back since. Maybe it'll get picked up by Fox to replace "Lost!"

I can not stand the way most of the actors will not work together as a team.
You always have one that tries to take advantage of the others.

Add me to the list as well. Didn't watch first season but watched about 20 minutes of first episode of season #2 after that I decided it was wiser to change the channel than to continue and risk using the TV for target practice

I saw just a few minutes of one show....thought to myself, "I don't know where they got these people, but it won't from around here."....and haven't watched it again.

I'm done! I watched this cr@p and I give up! It only goes to show you they pick the worst of the worst. These people could not have survived a water balloon fight. If they had not had technical advisors they would have died and that is what the end of the show implied. They showed up at their destination only to find it occupied. They STILL don't get it! SECURITY!!

I watched the entire thing with my wife. I hated every minute of it and called the participants every name in the book. What a bunch of morons. The best part about the show was that it was fluffy enough to keep my wife's attention. This allowed me to spend more time discussing our situation and it did show some of the realities of what may happen. Although for me it sucked it did turn out to be good in the long run.

BTW: That engine that they used in the end was fried the first time they fired it up. That thing was leaned out so bad and rings were fried. That is why it would not fire up the second time. They did not show her fixing the engine, only that it finally ran for the camera. I say that the production crew reringed it over night.

I liked a few things they built, like the bridge across the canal and such.

I thought it was kinda comical when the new leader asked the vopa guy to stay back. They're supposedly govt, they would have guns and who knows what else. If they were going to do anything they would just do it regardless of what he asked or how many times he paced back and forth.

I wouldn't have attacked the compound, especially when I saw there were women and children in there.

The thing I don't understand with most of these shows is why they make it seem so difficult. There's no reason they had to run around all dirty and smelly. LOL! What a miserable existence.

Klicktat, I still don't know why they didn't use the motor off the bike instead. It would have used less gass and been way less picky about fuel. I must have watched too much JunkYard Wars!

rwc, These folks attacked and stole from them first! In my book that makes you the enemy. They didn't try to barter or talk or create any sort of joint group, NO! they attacked and stole. If you can't feed your kids then eat your kids! As to VOPA having guns, how is it that no one else had guns??? I stand by my first statement, those inept well fed moronic government types are good for nothing..... well maybe gator bait!
I watch these shows to observe the interaction between people and what it has shown me is that most people are self centered arses who will back stab you in the blink of an eye. It just helps me prepare mentally for what I may have to do in a situation like that.

It might be, too, that you see what you expect to see or want to see. Someone else might think of them as just untrained, inexperienced and foolish. Both of you can be right of course.
