    Default time for celebration....

I just got the word, that I was awarded a contract for this winter from a nearby guest ranch (owned by a major corporation) for 45 days of guided dogsledding! All in all- its for 1440 people to go on dogsled tours! I get paid weather the people go or not! Its guaranteed! This deal has been two years in the making...I can't believe its finally coming through!
Since 2008 I have been on the brink of bankruptcy, divorce, foreclosure, etc...non-stop. I have been paying my dues as a wilderness outfitter, guide and musher for almost 20 years- now I can finally pay my bills!!!!

Congratulations, DOGMAN. An old Sourdough saying, "Stick and stay, and make it pay".

    Thumbs up

Wow, that is great. If I would have liked snow, I would have been Jealous. Congratulations. It sounds like you deserved a break. I quess this award will make it easier for you to get the award again next winter. At least, that's how government works. Awards based on past performance and all that.

8 people at a time (4 sleds/teams 40 dogs)....4 groups a day for 1 hour tours...thats a whole lot of dogsledding. I am going to be hiring 5 people, and getting some more dogs to handle it
