    1) Rattlesnakes (all snakes) 2) Javelina (wild pigs) 3) Coyote. Though snake bites are 1000X more common them the other two. Don't know what the rest of you do, down here "snake removal" is included as part of our fire dept fees. I've called them 4 times in 8 years, twice on rattlers. Here's a few pics from my backyard:

Are those "Coon Tails" Pacific Diamondbacks with the black rings on the last few inches above the rattles ? Maybe all Diamondbacks have those, not sure, but we called them coon tails along the river,,

potentially the most dangerous non-human animal in my area is the cougar [again, the non-human kind].

realistically, you're far more likely to have trouble with a feral dog. not nearly as large a problem lately as in recent years, but there are a lot of dog fighters around, and more than a couple breeders, and then of course, the more usual turning loose of house-pets people don't want to care for any longer.

i find it a shame the way people treat coyotes and cougar.

    Default Brown Recluse

This is my first post but I just have to chime in here . I've been bitten by the brown recluse spider 19 times in the past 6 years and have the scars to prove it . So far by the grace of the Good Lord I have had no ill effects from them yet . Just my 02 cents .

    Rattlesnakes, Cottonmouths, Copperheads.

Wild Dogs, Coyotes, and apparently Wolves are back or so my grandpa says.

Bobcats are in the area as well.

Then your assorted insects and so on.

Well, he did say by the grace of God after 19 times he had no ill effects. And you know God does work in mysterious ways.

After that spider had bitten me once...twice at the most...I'd have squished it. I'll be danged if I'd let it bite me 19 times!!

Spiders are kinda tiny. Sometimes you have to look real close to figure out what they are doing. But 19 times?

Packs of once domestic dogs are making a comeback around here after an almost 20yr break. People from town are doing Rover a favor by dropping him off in the country just knowing someone will take them in. The usual snakes for the area, copperheads and a few rattlers, spiders & yellow jackets. Haven't shot any rabid animals or heard of any. Nothing for me to bother with except coyotes that want to make a meal of a fat little beagle.
