What is fire?
Saw this commercial the other day and thought it was pretty cool. Fire is close to my heart. I love making fire, watching it, using it. I love understanding what it is, what it does. I can sit and watch a fire for hours. I love the flavor it imparts to my food. I love the smell of it in my clothes. I love the way it dances and licks at the kindling. It's almost like a living thing.. it starts off like a baby, needing to be nurtured and fed, requiring a lot of attention, at first, but it quickly grows to be a consuming beast that must be kept in check. It eats to live and it lives to eat. It warms our skin and our souls. It lights the darkness, preserves the safety of your circle. It is soothing and dangerous at the same time. It is a tool. It is a weapon. It is a comfort. Fire IS.
Fire is an amazing thing, at least to me, and I thought with all the folks here who love the outdoors, and respectively the campfire, that you all might enjoy the message in this commercial, too. Particularly the primitive skills folks on here, as I know we share a bond with fire that is truly special.
