Laboring!!!! It seems a Labor day tradition in this neighborhood. Or maybe more accurately a female conspiracy Have to build a 12x12 foot shed for a neighbor. We poured the foundation last weekend. We start tomorrow, and with all the neighbors help (average age 70) we may, with alot of luck get done sometime Saturday or sunday , or even Monday. Problem is the refreshments. Not the lack of them, is the abundance and variety. One likes ice cold beer, one favors brandy and one believe it or not favors plain old ice tea!!! So there are frequent breaks for hydration. and if it gets too hot, or have too many "big boy drinks" we just shut the job down and sit in the shade listening to the various wifes chewing us out. Not to worry, it is all factored into the grand plan and they will feed us even if they are angry

I will be driving to central Arkansas Friday night so that my son and I can dove hunt with my dad and brother. My son has never been on a dove hunt so it will be a big thrill for him. I will put him near enough to watch my dad who rarely hits a dove, that way he won't be discouraged for missing.

SR - Have a safe trip and enjoy. It's been a few years since I dove hunted. I always enjoyed it. This will be a trip that young man will remember for a long time.

    Working.

But tomorrow I'm going for a hike. Surf around here usually runs around a foot or two. Today was around five feet, and tomorrow they're predicting ten feet. Low tide is in the AM, so I'm headed to one of my favorite places. I'll make sure to take some pics.

im looking at camping in the green mountains. I just need to get away for a few days, I usually dont go camping on amunture weekrnd, but in new England this is most likely the last warm weather we have. Its all good.
Tommorow is the last of the garden. I will pick the last of the tomatoes and make a lot of sauce and freeze it. I'm looking forward to some fall camping.

Hopefully, I won't have to be cleaning up after Earl passes by on Friday. I think anything loose has been picked up/tied down. Boarding up a few doorways at work. Other than that, we're ready as you can get.
For the weekend, I'd love to take out the canoe if the algae and scum get cleaned off the ponds/lakes/streams etc. The swirling green water around here looks like one of Crash123's micarta creations. Maybe call a future handle color "Pond Scum Green"?

I'll be packing the truck up and heading out on a bear hunt. I still have to pick the lucky rifle for the hunt...I'm leaning towards the 7mm-08.

I'm kinda waiting to see if I'll be taking it easy, and eating lots of good food, or trying to clean up after the storm.

It's the annual family fishing competition this weekend. Beer, company, food and fishing. What more could you ask.

First part of the weekend complete (we started early ), frame up, roof ready to put up. Then the temps went up to about 96. We went to the shade tree with a couple cool beverages and contemplated our progress. After an hour or so of contemplation we decided to let the completed work "settle" over night (thats what we told the wives, for some reason they did not buy that explaination). Showered and setting in the air for now. Back at it tomorrow.
