Surely you wouldn't condone someone vandalizing your property or public property all in the name of fun?
Or stealing a car and taking it for a joy ride? Or shoplifting or bullying or whatever sociopaths do to get their rocks off.

Why on earth do you let what others do bother you to the point that you feel you have to rant about it? If you want to hike off into the wilderness then have fun. I might tell you to take a change of underwear or something along those lines but if you come back or not, it's no skin off me. If I see others telling you not to go, I certainly won't be bother by their advice either. A simply thank you on your part and you're on your way.

Most folks are more bothered by their own thoughts about a given subject than they are about the subject itself.

I doesn't have an effect on what I do. What bothers me are the cowards who berate the kids (under 30) and try to persuade them from adventure. The adventurous spirit is what made this country great. What we have today is a society that wants to turn men into unicks.

Men and women who are bold, men and women who believe in who they are, men and women who are not afraid, this is what we need today to lead this nation out of bondage. Go and live life, be free and shrug off the words of the contented slaves.

Rick, I live in the middle of some the best hunting and fishing in the world. I like this site and because you help provide this site and the fact that I like you, any time you want to have an adventure you are more than welcome.

As a youngster, I have acted without thinking, had a blast (most times). As I got older and had responsibilities (family and fellow military) I adopted the "calculated risk" mentality. I now think before acting (well almost all the time). From a recreational standpoint , I would never call anyone a coward if they did not want to take a risk, I don't feel it is my place to judge either the risk taker, or the "risk avoider". Its a maater of choice.
