Red meat is good for you.Its the green furry meat you have to worry about.
I'm thinking of buying up every generator within 25 miles of here. If this thing comes, I'll sell 'em on the side of the road and make a fortune. Otherwise, I can get rid of 'em at a 20% loss and write it off.
Way I figure it, if I sell 1 out of 5 at post-hurricane prices, I'll break even. Anything over that is pure gravy.![]()

Well...since it's the hurricane season and all, may I suggest port--or more specifically, Fonseca Vintage Port 2007:
"Dense and serious, a powerful vintage, as would be expected from Fonseca. The whole emphasis of the wine pushes the tannins forward, but this structure is based on black plums with dark fruit skins and a solid, chunky character. The finish is juicy and bold."
Of course there's Jack Daniels. Always a good choice.
And now I digress..........
About 10 years back, I sat through a serious snowstorm in the Atrium at the Millenium Bostonian with my younger brother. We sampled EVERY port on the list (about 20 pretty darn good ones) along with a couple of great cigars. No worries. We had rooms there for the weekend.

Bottom line:
In the right company even Colt 45 tastes great.

I am here!!! At work, trying to quell a panic amongst the bean counters. You would think that the world is about to end!! My professional advice to them was to switch to decaf earlierAt least as of now, it should only be a wind event and some tide (office is about a mile from the coast). But will watch, tomorrow will be decision time if I send the troops at home into upstate NY for a short vacation
. Probably not necessary, but will cover us if momma nature slips us a curve ball.

So from what I heard on the radio this morning,it doesn't look good for us.
Normally I wouldn't care. It's basically my fish tank and loosing power that bothers me.
From the current projections (see link in post #1) it looks like it will skirt the east coast and be a direct hit on Nova Scotia. Of course, projections are just that - projections. Sometimes Mother Nature has her own way of thinking. Keep an eye on it, be prepared, and stay safe.
I just seen on cnn this is now a CAT 4 storm,,
Yeah, It looks like its gonna bump the East coast pretty hard after Midnight,,, Hunker down and be ready for anything,,

It's quite a thing to see.
Beautiful but deadly.
FEMA is talking evacuations on the coast of N. Carolina. It's suppose to be there by Thursday.
I would guess the storm surge will be incredible.
