I'm a late-twenties lass from across the pond, living as a student having left a job in the stressful world of lecturing web-design and computer programming. I decided I preferred the outside world and was fed up in front of a computer.
I'm currently doing an MSc in Biodiversity & Conservation (I'm writing my thesis, or not, as I type). That's how fed up I was. I'm much happier now.
I used to live in North Alabama and still have family there, so I go back from time to time.
I do quite a bit of leatherwork -- pouches mostly, and usually for historical re-enactment, although not always. I recently spent 17 days camping on the island of Lundy in the Bristol Channel doing vegetation and lichen surveys. I do GIS here'n there too. I camp at least once every month (although I try to avoid December and January, it has been done. I can actively say I've tried it, at least).
I saw a few interesting things about making threads out of rosebay (and it's edibility) and got a bit drawn into the forum.
So. Er. Hi!
