    Default Hello fellow uneven groundwalkers

Just discovered this site and figured I'd join up and share info.

I grew up in the Blue Ridge of NC and was presented , for my 13th BDay with a copy of "How to stay alive in the woods". Shortly after that, First Blood and Red Dawn came out.

    Been a junky ever since.

Moved to southeast Alaska in 89' and I honestly can't live anywhere else.

My primary survival focus is wilderness survival, but I'm also into preparedness and martial survival.

I am a hobbyist knifemaker and a dedicated knife nerd.

I live in a great place for bushcraft/survival.

For those who are not familiar with SE AK. It is an archipeligo of 1000's of islands and is a rainforest with @150" of rain a yr. Terrain is brutal. It generally takes 2 hrs to break brush for 1 km. I have run into spots where it took 1.5 hrs to travel 300 m. Not fun, but builds charecter?

I have a military background as well. 11B3PF7 for you Army guys.

Let me show you folks some pictures of my area and a few of my knives.

Welcome, it's nice to meet you. I can see why you love it there so much. Very spiritual, Lord of the Rings type of scenery.
Tank's cute--how has he adapted to the environment? Somehow I've never envisioned pugs in AK.

Well, Tank is not a field dog to put it nicely. His environment is the couch.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. You folks have a talented bunch here.

Welcome. Keep lots of pictures coming on a regular basis. It has been my dream for 30 years to get up there. Two years left of school and my wife said we can go. So please keep those beautiful pictures coming to keep me entertained.

    Welcome!

I grew up and still live in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just over the border into Virginia, about 20 miles north of Mount Airy, NC (aka, "Mayberry" of Andy Griffith fame).
