Just discovered this site and figured I'd join up and share info.
I grew up in the Blue Ridge of NC and was presented , for my 13th BDay with a copy of "How to stay alive in the woods". Shortly after that, First Blood and Red Dawn came out.
Been a junky ever since.
Moved to southeast Alaska in 89' and I honestly can't live anywhere else.
My primary survival focus is wilderness survival, but I'm also into preparedness and martial survival.
I am a hobbyist knifemaker and a dedicated knife nerd.
I live in a great place for bushcraft/survival.
For those who are not familiar with SE AK. It is an archipeligo of 1000's of islands and is a rainforest with @150" of rain a yr. Terrain is brutal. It generally takes 2 hrs to break brush for 1 km. I have run into spots where it took 1.5 hrs to travel 300 m. Not fun, but builds charecter?
I have a military background as well. 11B3PF7 for you Army guys.
Let me show you folks some pictures of my area and a few of my knives.
