    Default An intersting Kid?

I just spent a lunch hour reading about this kid Colton Harris-Moore.
First I heard of him was today.
Now I'm far from jumping on his fan wagon. It seems he has been a Juvenal delinquent and criminal through most of his life.
But, His SERE skills seem to be rather impressive. To elude so many, in such a small wild area, for so long shows some skill.
Again! I'm not a fan, but you have to acknowledge his skills.

    Any other opions?

some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

A google search will bring up a bunch more info.
Just found it very interesting that I hadn't heard anything about this before.

OK, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna hear some backlash about this opinion, but so far, I like him. If he was the one who shot at the cops mind you, I disapprove of that big time.

    I share your opinion.

Being the shy and timid guy that I am, I was waiting for you to post it first, so I could have some cover when it hits...........

Ken you should be slipping your business card into the pizza delivery boxes for this kid, I don't expect he can last terribly long out there now. I sincerely hope that he gets brought in alive, that shot at the law thing was way bad, but reading the article kind of made me think that my teen years were just a waste. Here I thought they were an adventure until I read some of the stuff this kid pulled. Taught himself to fly a plane by playing video games? That's why he keeps stealing them, he needs more landing practice and somebody actually finally found a use for video games!

There may have been a gunshot, but it wasn't him firing at the police.

That's what my thinking is too, but it's the police's thinking that matters. I can't say I blame them for not wanting to take chances either.

    Gun shot?
    Not the kids M.O.!
It is a great way to up the search intensity.
I've seen it happen around here. Feds came in, they heard a shot, they took the shot. Game over.
Funny thing was, TWO "bad guys" went down from one shot.

While it might be interesting about how he has adept skills of evading, it is no excuse for his actions of burglary and dangerous actions that could have and probably did put peoples' lives at risk. I hope they catch and throw the book at him. And the way it reads, her mother should probably go too.

Kohler said she was proud her son had stolen the aircraft because he had never had a flying lesson in his life.

If the list of things that he has repotedly done is even close to being accurate I've got no use for him, and he deserves to be thrown in jail for a long time. If he burglarized my place, and I came home (I know, technically a robbery) he would probably hope for jail as well. Living in the woods and thumbing your nose a society is one thing, but when your activities infringe on the rights of others or cause others harm you are nothing but a criminal. Your right of freedom and carefree lifestyle stops squarely on the other side of my front door step.

That little monkey stole a plane here in Indiana and flew it to the Bahamas. Instead of putting a bullet in the outboard motor they should have put one in him. His mom has hired a lawyer to spin a book deal out of it. Nice mom. Top notch parenting skills like that are what put Pretty Boy Floyd and Dillinger in the history books.

The little a-hole should be locked up. It does tick me off when people think it is glamorous to take other persons possessions and then get Indignant when the owners get upset. Nothing to be glorified about this turd. Lock him up, maybe (not likely though) he will learn some manners

I feel sorry for the boy. He basically raised himself, so what else should we expect? He started living in the "wild" at the age of seven, stealing only what he needed to survive. Without proper guidance, his life life was bound to take this course. Imagine what he could have done with his life if he had a real parent to direct him. The boy is rather amazing...

Stealing food or things for substance is one thing. Who needs to steal multiple planes and boats to live off the land? This kid is just another criminal who has nothing to offer society. He is not skilled, just really lucky. Lock him up and charge his mother with accessory since she supports this waste of skin. He is lucky a nice law-abiding citizen he robbed wasn't there to execute their 2nd Amendment Right.
