Not a stupid question at all, hillbilly. There have been several discussions about staying in communication with others during a catastrophic event, I don't know that cb's have been touched on just from memory.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

This is NOT a stupid question hillbilly,I do have one in my truck,I have a cell phone, but coverage is VERY limited in my area, bottom line is,I drive to work at 3:30 in the morning and with the larger part of the road "out of sevice area" of the cell phone,I got the cb,there is almost always someone on the air, even if it just the truckers on the interstate 15 miles away, they are alway willing to send help when needed.

Very good question in my opinion.

You do? Oh my God! What's your cb handle? C'mon..... (I'm having images of Nell in a black transam with a big fat cop chasing her all over the state!!)

CBs are so seventyish and Smokey and the Bandit boring. But sure as heck i'd use it.
There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.

I have one in my truck, cell service is hit or miss in most of Marion County and non existant in the areas I usualy go,break an axle in the swamp and you will be a CB fan quick. Great if you need directions too, most of the folks around here have them, they came in right handy after the hurricanes.

Gee whiz muffin, sorry we can't always live up to your lofty expectations of entertainment. I got little bored talking about ski...kilts.

It's a big sub. Easier than walking from one end to the other.
