I wish I had the words to express my anger and disgust for whoever did this.

I'll bet that guy nearly soiled himself when he saw something move in the dark. You wonder what's the odds of him going into that same canyon the dog was in? Weird, huh? Can't fathom why someone would go to all the trouble of taking a dog down there and leaving him. Something doesn't add up with that.

That was one lucky pooch. I have never understood why people abandon animals like that.

I have family that used to own an Inn in Vermont.Late one night Ed heard a truck pull up so he waited to see who would walk in.Well no one did so he looked out the window to see the driver toss a burlap bag into the drainage ditch.Ed walked out to the ditch to pull out the bag and took a look inside. Two doberman pups were in the bag along with a few heavy rocks.

Ed rescued the pups and kept them at the Inn.A year or so later my mom was up visiting and the dogs just went nuts for what at the time seamed like no reason.Well a few seconds later a pick up pulled into the yard. The dogs would not let them into the Inn.Ed looked at the owners of the truck and back at the dogs and realized it was the same truck that had tossed the burlap bag the year before.

Its amazing that the dogs knew the sound of the truck before they were able to see the driver.

This is how animal rights vigilantism starts.
Normal people decide, after one more horrific story, that enough is enough.

I talked to the guy that saved the dog on Facebook yesterday, he told me that after reflecting on it, he thinks that someone probably got in over their head and had to leave the dog , That they probably barely got out of there themselves,

well even if this was true, They should have told someone and to help retrieve the dog.

here, I'll just post our conversation,
    COPY,

Cool stuff I am the most perplexed as to why someone would do this. Latest theory is that they didn't actually do it intentionally. Perhaps they were exploring with him & they got in over their heads. Abandoned him during their own escape???? Go figure. And yes, the odds of this are extraordinary, but isn't that what usually makes a story memorable? .

Scott July 1 at 12:50pm Yes, I thought about that too, maybe they were in trouple themselves, as yopu stated to the media, The authorities were not going to help, who knows, maybe the owners asked as well ? anyway, it was still very kind of you, BTW, I think yhat dog is destened to stay around your shop , dont hesitate to pop into the forum I linked, who knows, You may enjoy it there, Lots of good survival info.
