Hey! It ain't no bed of roses here either my friend. +45F and rain. Had to turn the thermostat up on the heat pump and put socks on my little feet to warm up.

Like 12 foot gators, -56 anything is God's way of saying, "Move".

And everyone wants to bug out to Traxistan. Yeah, right.

Why here in Free Traxistan it's a balmy -42 C after last night's blizzard. I'm going positively doty with the heat, I only needed one sweater today!
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

Bonus of residing in Free Traxistan: no gators, none, zilch on el-gatorino, too frickin' cold for giant reptiles

Other bonuses to follow: little New Guinean pygmie labor...

I actually sensed some retaliation was about to occur. I did.

So....someone might describe you as a "warm" human being....mostly because "warm" like "cold" is an adjective. These, our supplement chomping fruity infusion slurping little Scottish companion are words used to describe nouns. Hence, cold...can describe the temperature...which is a measurement of how warm or cold the environment is, or can be used to describe how someone feels, or even how someone treats others (Ie that Rick is so warm, why can't that cold-hearted bast**d Trax be more like him?) Got it? good, now go eat your vitamins

Yesterday the town was full of mushers. John Beargrease sled dog race is on. They will be back through again in a few days.

Temps were about plus 40 degrees. At 1900 hrs it began to rain hard. By 2100 hrs it was freezing with dropping temps. It took me an hour and 26 minutes to get to work. Lotta cars in the in ditch. At work, we did traffic control for a sand truck spinning half way up a hill. Several vehicles spun out crossways in traffic below the truck. No way to get a wrecker in. Pushed cars by hand. Had my feet go out from under me twice - knocking the wind out of me. Ended up going out on sick time, may have cracked my pelvis.

Winds are up and TV is predicting wind chill of minus 30 to minus 50. Betting a few of the mushers are going to be in trouble before this is over.

Winter can provide a harsh and formidable climate. Just this afternoon I thought I was going to have to put on long pants for my round of golf.

Wind chill is minus 50 (minus 45 Celsius) at 2300 hrs. All schools closed for second day in a row. Sent the kids out to plug in the tank heaters on their cars.

Wouldn't care to be out mushing in this kind of weather.

Crazy day yesterday. High of 51 and it's 8 this morning. Thunderstorm and tornado warnings in January! Winds gust of 50 mph.
