Nice links. As long as they're not talking about food. What some consider single serving, I consider a snack.![]()
Ken, thanks for the links. Invidiual packs may be my next-to-last resort, but you don't have as many pills in a "stackable" form factor.
With blister packs:

you can have more individual meds that are all, more-the-less, in the same form factor. The blister cards are stackable. As you use them, the form factor of the card they are packaged on remains the same and is easily carried in the waterproof box shown without worrying about mixing them up, noise, dropping pills, etc.
I have Nyquil, Sudafed, Imodium, kid's meds, pepto, and maybe another 4-5 general purpose meds that are packaged this way and the organization is SO easy. I'm getting pretty anal-retentive about this.
Individual packs will probably come just before using the travel size plastic bottles stuffed with enough "something" to keep them from rattling. The vaccuum packing sounds intriguing and can be used for a lot of other preps, but I didn't realize how expensive the devices are.
I vac-seal a lot of my meds, just like tacmedic does. Others are in the "single-serve" pack. It's all waterproof, but I carry it in a small pouch. You may wanna' think about adding some prescription pain meds to your supply. Talk to your doc. I have some serious stuff with me at all times - just in case.

Minimus is a good company. I've done business with them in the past. Word of caution. Steer clear of single serving peanut butter. The oil leaks out. Learned that the hard way.

Hey Rick, you're right on about the peanut butter.
Sargepicked himself up a Maxpedition Falcon II and called me with a question. So I got my Maxpedition Falcon II out (last checked it in January) and went through it. I keep a bit (lots) of rations in that thing, and sure as ever, the oil in the MRE peanut butter packs was somehow seeping through the packaging. Fortunately, they were all together in an individual sandwich baggie separate from everything else, or it would have made a real mess in there.

Hmmm, I wonder how good peanut oil would be for lubrication of Guns and stuff ? Seriously? sounds like its good at penetrating,,,,
Single serving pkgs. have their place, but I wouldn't know if they would work well for long periods of time. Better than nothing I guess. However, for a Backpacking outing, camping trip, that sort of thing I think they're great. I don't have to worry about animals smelling open jars of stuff & I can portion out just the right amount. Whenever I'm in any type of food place that has condiments in single-serving packs, ketchup, mustard, relish, chopped onion, salt, pepper, sugar, pizza spice, etc., I always load up. Little Ceaser's is great for picking up packs of Parmesan cheese.
BTW, I love that Falcon 2 pack! Thanks for the recommend Ken!![]()

Also, I strongly suggest that all of you make a "scheduled check-up" for your BOB & other type of packs if you haven't already done so. Check out all expiration dates on food items as well as problem areas like the aforementioned leakage and even possible mouse attacks.![]()

Just received my order from minimus.org.
Good service so far , they delivered all products without any back orders.
my expectations for single serve packets are pretty low but i will do a quick product review if any one is interested. i ordered Kraft Parmesan cheese. cheddar cheese, balsamic vinegar, imitation bacon bits, Kraft bbq sauce, ancho chipotle sauce, picante hot sauce and peanut butter.
If nothing else its more flavor then im used to in the back country. and the bbq sauce would make squirrel taste so much better and the peanut butter will draw them in.

Don't forget Tootsie Rolls. They are one of the few chocolates that will not melt in heat. So they are a great comfort food and a quick energy boost from the sugar. Make certain to keep them dry, however. They will dissolve if they get wet.

It was included in GI rations in WWII and was a favorite in Africa because it didn't melt. A bit of an aside, do you know what American icon hit the beach in North Africa during the invasion? ......Coca Cola. They unloaded three bottling plants the day after Africa was invaded. You gotta love a country with positive vibes.

Squirrels, squirrels are such a hoot.
They're fun to watch and fun to shoot.
Squirrels, squirrels there's no dispute.
They're easy to skin and tasty to boot.
