They better be careful. Those things breed like rabbits.

Hey Ken! Did I ever tell you I have an AWSOME squirrel stew recipe?
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.

We have the same problem here in Maine, or so they say. I think that with the end of all the clear cutting that there has been fewer around. You don't see many
snow shoe hares either. There was an article in the paper last week about it here, and what they are doing to increase the numbers. Coyotes are up in number, I'm sure they have a good rabbit feed from time to time. If the state can do for rabbits what they have done with turkey's, the rabbits will be fine.

We saw 4 rabbits coming home from fishing today. That's more in one day than I've seen all year. We were talking the other day about how you just don't see as many hares as you used to, and we figure that's why they took all the regulations off coyote hunting. Our guess is the coyotes are eating them into extinction while having a population boom (breeding like rabbits) themselves.
My Uncle and I are thinking about getting coyote liscense.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Helen Keller

In Utah, you don't need a license to hunt coyotes. They also don't have limit or season. The same for Jackrabbits. However, there is a season and license requirement for cottontails.

I think the coyotes are a big part of the problem. I think it is a great idea to get a license and give it a try. I am getting my trapping license (for the first time in 20 years) just to try to help with the problem here. I cant remember how many years it has been sence I saw a rabbit running around. I'm going to guess 3 years now.
