Sorry gang hope this doesn't fall under the forbidden political discussion area. If so sorry. I realize that due to my recent medical situation I have not kept up with whats happening as well as I normally try to do. But I had a friend email me today asking me if I have heard anything about the government "plan" to microchip the populace. I haven't heard anything and can't find anything in the news I've missed on it. Is this just a conspiracy rumor, urban legand, fact?? If fact anyone know the reason why outside the obvious?

Again if this is political sorry! Feel free to delete it.

If we revisit this subject in 10 years, my opinion may have changed.

The microchip conspiracy has been popular for the past decade. From time to time it rears it's ugly head and gets people all up in a frenzy. Nothing ever comes of it.
WILL they ever do it? Eh...I think they will TRY one day, but I don't think something like that will ever fly in America. That's just my opinion though.

I wouldn't have a problem with it,, In fact, I think it a great Idea, all of your info can be stored there, Drivers Licence, medical info , bank debit,, etc, etc,

Buy stuff with a little scan ,, lol

Edit, as long as 'I" control what info is stored on it, i would be fine with a chip

Yeah, right......some people have their panties in a wad, because someone may ask them if they are here legally.

BTW.....before we dis-miss the micro-chip thing, we may want to wait until they sort out the health care bill. I may be in there. LOL

Actually.....it has been going on for some time on a voluntary basis, mostly in Europe/Scandinavia. It's been pretty limited from what I've read and mostly relegated to night club access.

So you'd be OK with people you may not want to have certain information having ready access to it, including criminals in a crowd with a scanner? No thanks - I'll have to pass.

I think the reason these rumors are started is to de-sensitize us so that when the time comes it really happens we won't be so inclined to oppose it. There will come a time that we all bear a mark of sorts. If we don't bear the mark we won't be part of society.

From further research I have found that the microchiping is going to be a requirement of the new federal health care program. If you want the goverment option health care you get chipped.

I think you are right on with this! I remember reading something a while back about the "missing" pictures on the milk cartons were the first part of de-sensitizing people for this system. It might also be part of the crazy conspiracy but it kind of makes sense to me.
