    Any body know of this gun? I have the opportunity to pick it up cheap. From what I have been told it has a little rust on the magazine. The stock is supposed to be in great shape.Im going to look at in later today.I just may pick it up.

    Thanks.

    I don't know anything about them, but if I had the chance to pick it up, for a fair price, it would have to come home with me. LOL

    THE GUN WILL BE IN 7.65 Argentine caliber and ammo is available from Norma. If you reload you can form the hulls from 30-06 brass. Same case head.

    The cartridge is about the same as a .308 in power. I have owned several and one of these was my first centerfire rifle due to being available in the late 1960s for around $20 in like new condition. Surplus ammo was $0.10 per shot and I though I was being robbed.

    They are a small ring action with a single stack magazine that protrudes from beneath the stock. All other features are shared with the 93-95-96 series.

    If the bore is good and the price is right I would pick it up. Since ammo is expensive if you do not reload I would play hardball on the price. Do not pay more than the $80 you would spend on a Mosin, even though the mauser is a better design.

    @ 2D, thanks for the link. I had stumbled across that one but did not book mark it.I have now.

    @kyrat, thanks for the info

    The Mouser took the ride home with me.All in all it cost me $50.00 I also got a single shot 22 thrown in. I was amazed at how sweet the bolt action was.Even after being stored for a long time. All numbers match wich I thought was an amazing thing considering how old the gun is.

    Hey Ken you wouldn"t happen to have any 7.65 ammo kicking around would you?

    You do understand, that if you don't give us more details on the .22, we will send Ken to your house to do a full report.

    Hahahaha..Ken passed a couple of 22's along to me not to long ago.So I didnt really need another. But what the heck the price was right. It came from Sears and Robuck. My buddy Rich had picked it up when he was a kid using green stamps.Well at least thats what I think he called them.I remember my parents getting them from the grocery store when I was just a kid.Must be the same thing.

    Just to make you happy 2D I will try to get a couple of pics posted..

    Midway has ammo for $17 @ 20 round box.

    Is it a rifle or carbine?

    LOL....I have a K-31. In fact, it is what got me hooked on mil-surp's, and is still my favorite rifle.

    I just hope that one day I can shoot good enough to see just how accurate that thing is. As for now, it's way better than I am.

    I keep saying that to my husband when he talks about how accurate it is! "yes, yes, dear...but you DO know that a gun is only as accurate as the shooter..."

    I'm a collector and fell in love with the K-31 years ago. My husband is the one that shoots it. LOL! He goes deer hunting with that thing! (Not before he gets a lecture about how pissed I would be if he brought it home scratched though...) HA!
