    Default Hand Signals

    It's often handy if not imperative that two or more people be able to communicate either silently (while hunting) or over some distance (ridge line to ridge line). Here is a link to military hand and arm signals.

    Nice link Rick, but confusing because we didn't use those when I was in (83-91) although we did use some they had different meanings.
    There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.

    I don't think they have ever been standardized. Depending on branch of service, I've seen some that are not on there, some on there that mean other things but this is the first time I've run across a bunch laid out like this. Still, for a group like you historical trekkers it would be handy or on a hunt.

    There is one missing. Fanning the fanny. That means the latrine needs burned off and sarge is looking for volunteers. (everyone scatters at this point).
