Gun for sale..Maybe!

Just getting a feel on who might want to buy a rifle that I might be selling.
It's a Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308 20" bull barrel. I just bought it about a month ago fired one and only one shot through it. I will post pictures up if anyone is interested. The rifle cost me $700 new and asking the same. Reason I am selling is the rifle is that it was meant for to be a base for me to build a custom rifle. My wife is due any day and just won't have the spare money for the build till later. The rifle is in Tennessee, and locals welcome.

If you bought it for 700, your going to need to sell it for less. Nobody is going to want to deal over the internet or deal by cash if they can get it brand new from the manufacturer for the same price, even if it is still unopened and in the box. There is too much chance of shipping failure or defects that the seller isnt telling you about. Mabeye you should sell it for 625 or 650. No offense or anything, its just how things work.

Sorry, but you may have over payed. They are $579.00 Retail here. Same price on GunBroker.com, I suggest you keep it if possible. Again Sorry.

That is one reason I am asking here. Looking around for a sell price. I would like to get around 700 but I know I won't get what I paid for.

When I need to sell guns I wait till the next gun show and the ones around here you can pay an extra dollar at the gate and get a vendors permit and just wear the gun on your shoulder with a for sale sign on it as you walk around the show. That's how I get the best price I can.

Tennessee has a 9.25% sales tax. The price was my tax, background check fee included. I believe the price of the gun before tax was like $649. Like I stated above I am feeling for a sell price.

$600 seems to be the average price for the gun new. it's having been fired, even once will depreciate it's value. i wouldn't expect to get more than 90%

that's around $540, and that's where i'd start asking.

you can't justify keeping the price up because you had to pay tax and processing, and expect everybody to take you seriously [though you may get lucky, there are always those too lazy to shop around].

It's cool to seek a value for your rifle, but keep in mind that you cannot use this forum to sell it.

It's been brought up on several occasions, by various people. There are several issues that prevent the owner from wanting to do that.

too bad you don't live in WA. My brother was asking me about that one. He is looking at buy a 308 with 1000 meter accuracy (he is delusional, I know).

There are those folks who would place a monetary value on a firearm that is 'off the books' so to speak....

many states do not require registration for long arms, and non-registered sales can be found at shows in those states.

in states where it is required, you're talking about a crime, and this probably isn't the place to bring that up

Not delusional just cost a good penny. Glass bedding, trigger job, nice $1500 scope would be a good start. A .308 can be a 1000+meter gun but takes work to be accurate.

Crash, I know not to try and sell it on this forum. I have other forums I could sell it on. I was merely looking for a good price if I was to sell the rifle.
